Close to Home: Connect and Learn at Simon Fraser University

May 25, 2014

Simon Fraser University is known as Canada’s leading comprehensive university. The post-secondary institution has three campuses located in B.C.’s largest municipalities- Vancouver, Burnaby, and Surrey. SFU’s main campus is atop Burnaby Mountain, and offers stunning views, as well as a quiet escape from the bustling city below. Harbour Centre is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, while the Surrey campus is in the hub of one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities. All three campuses are a great place for learning, student interaction, and community involvement.

Getting There
Our Oak Townhomes are conveniently located within proximity of all three campuses. Head down the Canada Line from the Oakridge-41st Avenue SkyTrain station and stop off at Waterfront Station to find yourself one block from SFU’s Vancouver campus. Meanwhile, the Surrey campus is adjacent to the Surrey Central SkyTrain station, and from the Production Way-University SkyTrain Station, you can hop on a shuttle bus up to the Burnaby Campus. By car, you can easily make your way to all three campuses from the Oak Townhomes. A 12-minute drive will get you to the Vancouver Campus, and a half hour leads to the Burnaby and Surrey campuses.

Endless Opportunities
SFU encompasses eight faculties and offers more than 100 undergraduate programs and 45 graduate programs. Distance education courses, as well as evening and weekend classes, are also available to suit your study needs. The Beedie School of Business is known as one of the world’s top 100 business schools for academic research, and offers BBA programs, as well as Full-time and Part-time MBA, MsC Finance, PhD and Diploma designations.

Expand your horizons with popular programs including Co-op and Study Abroad, and get involved in over 100 campus clubs. There are also recreational activities available at all three campuses, from fitness programs to drop-in swims. If it is sports that you’re interested in, SFU boasts some excellent athletic teams, and is the only Canadian university competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Go Clan!
