About Listraor
Listraor builds green homes in sustainable locations
As a certified Built Green builder, Listraor strives to minimize environmental impact of its developments by using environmentally friendly construction techniques, by building in sustainable areas and by implementing an eco friendly office policy.
With the right practices environmental impact of construction can be minimized. Listraor uses local manufactures as much as possible. As a result, goods do not need to be shipped as far minimizing the carbon footprint of the project. Recycled materials such as manufactured wood products and recycled drywall are used in all Listraor projects. All Listraor projects are wood frame construction. Wood is the only major building material that is renewable. With proper forest management that is currently practiced in Canada, wood is a sustainable long term building material.
Listraor builds homes in well-established neighbourhoods close to transit, schools and shopping. Most homebuyers can walk or take a short drive to most local amenities.
Listraor’s head office is designed to minimize energy use. All desks face a large window. This minimizes the need for lighting. Windows can be opened to create a cross breeze. This eliminates the need for air conditioning in the summer. The location is a short commute for most employees. Employees are required to save energy by turning off the light and heat when leaving the office. All paper is to be recycled, or reused as note and sketch paper. Use of electronic files and documents is encouraged rather than printing.
